1. Quality Guarantee
We want you to love your art. If there’s a genuine quality issue with something you ordered from Maria Creative Arts, we’ll make it right—whether that means a replacement, repair (where possible), or a refund (depending on the item and the situation).
Please read below for more details:
Because we sell both made-to-order merchandise and one-of-a-kind original paintings, the exact steps depend on what you bought. The sections below break it down simply.
2. Merchandise (Prints, Apparel, Home Decor)
2.1 Made-to-Order by Fourthwall (No “Change of Mind” Returns)
All merchandise (like prints, apparel, mugs, phone cases, home decor, and other accessories) is made-to-order by our fulfilment partner Fourthwall, created specifically for your order.
Because of this:
- We don’t accept returns or exchanges for change of mind, ordering the wrong size, or buyer’s remorse.
- We can’t take back items that were made just for you (including any personalised/customised merchandise).
2.2 Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Merchandise (Replacement/Refund)
If your merchandise arrives damaged, defective, or not what you ordered, you’re covered. We can arrange a replacement or refund.
- Please contact us within 7 days of delivery.
- Include your order number and a quick description of what’s wrong.
- Please provide clear photos (see “How to report an issue” below).

We’ll review your request and get back to you within 2 business days with the next steps.
2.3 Lost or Undelivered Orders
If your order is lost in transit, or marked as delivered but you didn’t receive it, contact us as soon as you can. We’ll work with the courier/Fourthwall to investigate and, where appropriate, arrange a replacement or refund.
3. Original Paintings (Pre-made)
This section applies to ready-to-ship, already-finished original paintings (not commissions).
3.1 14-Day “Change of Mind” Returns (UK Consumer Rights)
In line with UK consumer rights, you have 14 days from the day you receive your painting to change your mind and cancel your order.
- Let us know within 14 days of delivery that you want to return it.
- You then need to send the painting back to us in its original condition, undamaged, and ideally with the original packaging.
- Return shipping is paid by the buyer. We strongly recommend tracked and insured postage for safe transit.
- Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we’ll issue your refund before 14 days have passed from the day we receive the return. (Original outbound shipping/return shipping costs are not refundable unless the item is faulty.)
3.2 If an Original Painting Arrives Damaged
If your original painting arrives damaged, contact us straight away with photos of the damage and packaging. We’ll assess whether a repair is possible or whether a refund is more appropriate, and we’ll work with the courier/insurance where needed.
4. Custom Commissions
Custom commissions are made specifically for you. Once work has started on a custom piece, it is non-refundable, as set out in our Commission Agreement.
If you cancel before work begins, any deposit you’ve paid will be refunded.
5. How to Report an Issue
To report a problem (damage, defect, incorrect item, or quality issue), please use our contact form and include:
- Your order number
- A short explanation of what happened
- Photos of the item placed on a flat surface, in good lighting
- If relevant, photos of the packaging and shipping label
This helps us (and Fourthwall/couriers, if involved) resolve things quickly.
6. Non-Refundable Items
The following are final sale and non-refundable:

7. Refund Processing Time
Once a return is approved and received:
- Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receipt.
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used at checkout.
- Please allow 5–10 business days for your bank or card provider to reflect the refund in your account.

We may update this Returns & FAQ from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of our website and services constitutes acceptance of any changes.
